Volunteer Coordinator

Job Description:

Partners for Community Living is looking to fill the Volunteer Coordinator position. The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting, coordinating and supporting the volunteer opportunities for both Choices In Community Living and Resident Home Association in Dayton Ohio. Choices and Resident Home Association are non-profit agencies providing community based supports and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Salary range of $25,000 to $30,000 based on experience. 

Coordinator will work in conjunction with the executive directors of Choices In Community Living, Inc. (CICL) and the Resident Home Association (RHA), the development director of Partners For Community Living, and the Collaborative Volunteer Plan, as adopted by the CICL and RHA boards and approved by the Joint Development Committee of Partners For Community Living.

Coordinator will work as a member of a collaborative team to design and implement community base volunteer opportunities for people with developmental disabilities served by two partner agencies and to support and enhance existing volunteer opportunities and activities.

 

Job Duties:

Developing, implementing and adhering to volunteer policies and guidelines.

Developing all necessary forms and paperwork associated with the volunteer program, including Volunteer Agreement forms, volunteer job descriptions; timesheets, evaluation forms, criminal background, motor vehicle and other checks, as applicable.

Developing and implementing an ongoing volunteer recruitment process (Marketing).

Developing and implementing a volunteer supervision process.

Developing and implementing a volunteer training program (Initial & ongoing)

Developing and implementing volunteer recognition.

Developing and implementing volunteer evaluation, including termination and exit interviews.

Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with people served by the volunteer program, with volunteers, with CICL and RHA employees, and with the community.

Coordinating the collaborative volunteer program within identified/adopted budget.

Maintaining/documenting all aspects of the volunteer program, including Volunteer Agreements, timesheets, evaluations, reports of activities and events, reports of participation  (how many participated, who participated) and other reports.

Networking with community resources, including building/extending partnerships with other agencies and organizations that serve people with developmental disabilities, building new partnerships to involve individuals, organizations or businesses in volunteer opportunities, developing sponsorships and/or donations for events/activities.

Assisting with fundraising in support of the volunteer program, including participation in special events and other fundraising efforts, assisting with identifying grants or other funding sources, assisting with grant writing as requested.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, strong interpersonal, team building and writing skills; knowledge of Miami Valley area; experience in volunteer coordination and/or supervision as well as experience with or knowledge of people with developmental disabilities; some

experience and/or knowledge associated with fundraising, grant writing and special events; computer skills required.
